OEM 44's - Use OEM Spacer plate?

Hey guys,

I'm going to be running oem 44's on my ski, and I'll be blocking the cross over passage. I'm wondering if I need to use the OEM Spacer with this setup, or if I can just get rid of it?

you don't need it once you fill crossover
just make sure you lap it flat on some thick glass plate
