SOLD! One owner 96 RN SuperJet - Virginia SOLD!

Bought this brand new in 96 with my then girlfirend. She is long gone, I still have the ski lol. Ski has all original graphics and is basically stock at this point, but does have a few mods, molded-in sponsons (Tom21 I believe), 4 degree UMI bars, old school Skat Trak stainless prop (don't remember pitch), bilge pump, R&D flame arrestor, etc. I changed the original Burple rail trim for NOS black pieces around 1998-99 or so timeframe. It also has since discontinued JetTrim upper rail pads. Fresh rebuild on the engine, with all OEM parts. Engine only has about 30 minutes run time, it will require a few more gallons run through it before being ridden hard. Compression is perfect @ 165 / 165, a little higher than stock due to the overbore. PM me with any questions, thanks.

$5400, located in Northern Virginia / DC area

Forgive me. Alot of short term memory loss. Long term too. Have we met before?

No worries, we have not met before, just exchanged a couple pms. I sent you a 650SX coil to try out to see if it worked for something you were putting together for somebody. Apparently it did, because you paid me afterwards lol. That was a couple months ago, which is why (like me) you cant remember much of anything. I can't remember what I did yesterday..........

Cheers, Glenn

@fastgtfairlane Possibly. I am not poking the seller, I am looking for a mint pre-2008 RN SJ.
The fact that @Sparkplug is impressed with it is encouraging.
But the engine in my 1995 FX1 is fine and it is a year older than the OP's.
So I ask out of true interest.

Glenn is a great seller, a very trustworthy guy, and an all around nice person to deal with. I've bought a lot of parts with from him and everything he sold me was mint condition. Good luck with the sale! Hope this goes to a good home.

What was wrong that the engine needed to be rebuilt?

E350 - That's a fair question, no offense was taken. Nothing really wrong with it, but the cylinder had some pretty flaky paint from being ridden in brackish water about 75% of the time over the last 20 years. So I pulled the top end off and put it in my blast cabinet, then epoxy primed it with real automotive 2 part catalyzed epoxy primer, (PPG DP50), not rattle can crap epoxy. Then I bought Yamaha engine paint and painted the cylinder, The cases, manifolds, exhaust system, head, and carbs are all original paint and still look great. While I had the cylinder off I figured I might as well put new case seals in it since I planned to sell it and wanted to make sure it was good to go for the next owner. Probably could have just left the original pistons in it, but they had normal wear for their age, and I had new ones on the shelf so I figured I would just go all the way with the rebuild. Crank and rods are very tight, I had my machinist check it and he said it was in great shape. Keep in mind that it is 27 years old, so new case seals on something that old are always mandatory in my opinion.

One thing I forgot to mention in the original posting is that the carbs have new OEM Mikuni rebuild kits in them, so they are good to go also. Note also that the carbs are jetted for a Protec pipe which was on there a while back, so I think you could just bolt a B- pipe or similar on this thing and go.

All questions are welcome....

Hey Jeff - Thanks for the props! Hope you are doing well up there, and it's warm enough to ride a lot.
