Freestyle One way valve recomendations?

I've had it with these dual pumps killing my battery. In Cleveland the waves are not spaced out enough to pump out. What are the best one way valves? Do the valves pull more volume than dual 500s?

No. You will sink your ski. If charging system is working properly shouldn't have a problem running bilge pumps while riding...

Off topic: Where do you ride?

yes come ride with us. We go out at edgewater and me and a few others also hit up fairport harbor. And take it from motozachl..no one way valve.

Sounds like you need to fix the source of water getting into your hull. I run two pumps, one almost all the time and the second when I need two and I have total loss, so no charging and I get a solid day or more out of my battery...

I've had my eye on a check valve at lowes #28576. It's for 1 1/4" pvc and resembles a versiplug, but the ball has a spring behind it creating a bit of resistance. I'm wondering if it will let water out under acceleration, but strong enough to hold air in or atleast slow it down should things go bad?

We have very little space to recover and plan out a line on the great lakes...you can be separated from your ski immediately not realizing its coming. If it were me I would look at your charging system and make sure there is no midshaft/pump area leak. I have left my bilge on for almost an hour on accident and the battery is still fine. This is a single 600gph. It's a deka battery

My home away from home.
Hard on the stator / lighting coil when running non stop over time, but gets the job done. I found this out the hard way and now only hit the bilge switch when needed. Running bilge pumps non stop will significantly pre maturely burn up your lighting coil on your stator. Scuppers are bad in any surf conditions IMO. Some run them though. I'm sure others will chime in. If you run total loss, run the bilge at will. Just my .02 fellas.

only thing that worries me about that 1100, dj, is I've read some reviews saying they don't turn off once their on. have you ever had that problem with yours?

mighty fine stream that 1100 has.

14 years...NEVER ONCE FAILED, EVER. Always came on, Always shut off. A switch WILL fail within 3 or 4 years for sure

Back to original poster, a Blowsion one way or a home made homedepot one is the way to go. You can always block them up with a plug if you don't want to use it or are worried about sinking in giant waves.

FYI, JSS rewinds his upgraded charging coil with more windings for approx 10% more charging capacity. It doesn't sound like much but if you run dual pumps all day long, it could mean the difference between a good and a very bad day.

Also as mentioned, fix as many leaks as possible. We say our pumps run all day and they do, but they hardly draw any current when they run dry. If you are pumping water constantly then the draw on your charging circuit and battery will be much greater.

As much as you are tempted to add suppers, I say don't do it, or if you do, go with a proven and reliable system. My new hull came with dual Thrust pump dumps and after only 2 rides, I am not impressed. I stopped for a rest once out in the water and my ski barely started. Water was almost up to my carbs and I was close to having a very bad day. Even sitting on the beach, the hull filled up with water. Scuppers move a ton of water fast and definately have their place but that place is not on any of my boats. I will be blocking mine off and installing dual pumps before my ski hits the water again.
