ok so i seem to get water in my bilge fitting and i was looking at some pics and seen what looks like a one way valve does anyone know where i can get one of these?
thanks
joe
ok i will try again the fitting that comes out the side of the hull has a hose i seen what looks like a one way valve in the hose to keep water from comming thru the hull fitting and back feeding into the pump thus going into my hull . does that help? i can try to find a pic in the gallery the problem is when my ski sits in water (not running) water splashes up and goes in the bilge fitting and back feeds into my hull
hope this helps
joe
Ah, ok. Well, honestly, I've never heard of such an animal, but that is alot easier to understand
I just ran a search and came up with nothing. I think what you may be seeing is a Flow control valve that feeds into the stinger of a pipe. I could be wrong though.
The bilge outlet fitting should be installed as high as possible on the hull towards the rear of the engine compartment, then you won't have a problem with water entry. Did someone put that bilge fitting in an unusual location? Otherwise check valves are available at plumbing supply stores, just never seen one used for this application!!!!!!
get a longer bilge line and make a loop in it before it exits out the outlet...should prevent water from flowing back in since it won't be able to travel back up the loop. Hope that makes sense...
how much water gets in while sitting there? is this when you dock the ski or something? I agree with the loop in the line.

page 466. there are some spring/ball check valves that may work for your application. One of them has a hose barb on one end. you sould need to get a hose barb to female npt fitting for the other side. cracking pressure is 1psi and they are available in stainless.
