Other paint or gel-coat?

i striped my ski all the way down to the fiber glass(the entire hull),and on the bottom of the hull i dont know if i should jel-coat it or paint with multiple layers of clear,also i wasent sure if i would have to get a new tip for my paint gun to spray the gel coat,all help would be greatly appreciated,thanx.

i would of just ruffed it up then paint, but since u went down to glass, might want to use a good ppg epoxy primer

Yes and a lot more work to spray,sand and buff

Lot more expensive for gun set up. Not like our skis sit out all year long like some boats overkill imo its big enough pain in the ass to wet sand paint

You don't need a special gun to shoot gelcoat with, use a nozzle designed for shooting house paint and you will do just fine, also if you want to cut down dramatically on the sanding time mix in Duretec clear 50/50 with the last coat of Gelcoat, it reduces sanding time by at least half.

X2 Duratec is the bomb if you have do any external non molded gel coat work .
