PFP Pipe - is it a must to run aftermarket ignition?

Gents,

On a stock stroke motor with a PFP Pipe - is it a must to run aftermarket ignition on a freestyle boat with no wot runs?

What setup have you got and what works well for low $$

It's not a must but an ignition will definitely wake up your motor some more. How many cc's you got and are you running power valves and what carbs do you have? The atp ignitions work awesome for the price. Msd total loss is usually the best choice for the best performance.

It is for doing "freestyle" competitively. It will be difficult to get good response from such a short pipe on a small engine. A lot of compression and race fuel will be needed with fixed timing. A programmable ignition gets you similar response on pump gas, it takes both to get a small engine really good enough.
