PFP question

I am buying a ski with a pfp. How can I tell if I got the old design or the new design pipe? If I got the old one, don't they crack or something? Do I need to reinforce the welds or something?

very few old ones had issues so not a concern.the new ones have a couple of spot weld on the chamber top and bottom.

Ones with spot welds can still crack but not as often, newest ones are made by a new company with better welds and have really big spot welds.
