Phantom Grate?

I've ridden a 144 pumped chan for several years. I started out extending a worx 205 two inches. Later I cut the outer part of the scoop off. I liked this setup pretty well.
Then I decided to pony up and buy the Jet Dynamics +2 grate. Nearly 3 bills and few hours of grinding to fit only to realize it was a step in the wrong direction. Too much load for my pump and motor. Any speed and my ski would do something really weird. Felt like a bucking bronco. Motor wouldn't rev out like it did before either. Was ok for freestyle but cruising up the lake was difficult.
Next I cut the back end off of a stock SXR grate and extended it to fit the Yamaha pump shoe. I'm still rocking this grate and the weird handling problems are gone.
My suggestion would be to find an old open 2 bar grate for a SJ like a westcoast and add 2" to it.
