OEM and PROX are the same. Also Lynn Vick and I think Sudco use to have pistons. All out of the same foundry.......... SIEZCO's are totally different type of piston.

Timely thread, I have a cylinder at the shop right now being measured for how much it needs to be bored.
I can get 81.5 Wisecos or 82 ProXs right now for a good deal; tell me more about the Wisecos / "Seizecos" lol.
What do I need to know before deciding?

As long as you're dealing with 81- 85.5 mm sizes, I strongly suggest you use ProX- just like oem and have excellent dimensional stability. The (forged) Wisecos usually require a clearance of 0.005" - 0.006" and then still prefer a gentle break in (don't heat them to quickly). They tend to grow a bit at first, then shrink after a few heat cycles. When I have a cylinder bored, I always(!) send along a piston (I only use ProX) and specify 0.0035"- 0.0045" skirt clearance (even on my 85mm bores).

all pistons can be seizeco's
its all about how to setup the engine package
you should know...you have been here a long time and that was a lame statement
do a search plenty of seized cast pistons
its the nature of the beast with a open water cooling system

granted the wiseco yamaha 760 piston #757mo8500 are heavy and need to be clearanced more
wiseco stopped the pro-lite series a long time ago unfortunately for us performance nuts

I guess you have never heard of a joke or sarcasm............. I have ran Wiseco's for years in 550's with no issues. Ran in a big bore for 2 seasons with no issues........... Anytime I rebuild I have always used ProX. I am running Wossemers now (Think that is how it is spelled), Well, Will be running once engine is installed.

Guess you have not been around long enough to pick up on the sarcasm.................. Pssstttt, That is a joke.......
