I've never heard of that place. What's it like?

its an old gravel pitt down next to the river. its secluded and quite (well at least till we get there.) its at the end of a little dirt road about a total of 5 to 6 miles off the highway. there are no houses surrounding it so there are nodocks to stay away from. and nobody to complain. theres room for at least 30 vehicles with trailers in the main parking area. and its actually a michigan state recreation area so its legal to be there, but weve been ridin it for 3 years now and have never seen dnr on the water once!!

UPDATE: to better serve all of those riders from out of town that dont want to pay for a hotel it is quite possible to work out camping in my back yard. i live appx 10 minutes from the "pitts"
we are also possibly going out to pidgeon lake to ride lake michigan on sun.
will list hotels in the area in the next day or so.

i think i've been there before... do they hold waterski tournaments there?

a few years back i went to a tournament in a gravel pit but the locale escapes me.

i dont think so mob not unless it was somkind of underground tournament or something......the pitts we r going to go a little something like this......once you turn down s cedar dr. you start to wonder if its where they filmed deliverance.......although the road is maintained........

not sure how deep it actually is nobody i know has ever hit bottom more than 10 feet out though.....as soon as i get my a.d.d a$$ out there to take some pics. ill ask some of the fishermen that im sure are out there this time of year how deep it ranges...

I've hit bottom there.
You just need to be a little careful.
It's river water, so it's fairly murky.

I will try and be there so all of you have someone to laugh at :haha: . I dont even have my first stand up there but will have it soon. I cant think of where these gravel pits are at.... where are they from the GVSU campus? Party at my apartment afterwards??? We got a kegerator....:woot:

sweet bro is that kegerator portable? im planning on having a bash here in the back 3 afterwards....... and dont worry bout not having a whole lotta skill yet. everybody is usually more than helpfull with lending a newbie some tips..

Nah I wish it were portable. A buddy of mine bought it and has no place to put it but my apartment. I told him he can keep it here as long as its stocked :Banane01: . I have not even seen it yet but its an old refrigerator converted into a kegerator.
