Planning A Move to Florida (Panhandle)

Anybody on here live in the panhandle of Florida (Santa Rosa County/Okaloosa/Pensacola area)? I am planning a move there in about a year.

Good riding? Surf? Flatwater?

Wanting to know the pros and cons of living there and what the riding is like.

I don't live there but I ride there. The surf is not great. It tends to be choppy. If you lived there you could ride on the days that have good surf. Most of the beach is a no wake zone. The good place to ride is outside of the passes. the area inside of perdido pass is all no wake zone until you get past the bridge, it's painfull. Destin pass and panama city pass used to be good to ride. I have ridden there in years. I will link a live cam to destin pass, you can see the surf on either side outside of the passes when there is surf. Inside Destin harbor is a huge sand bar called crab island. It' a big hangout. Search for it on youtube. At Panama city you can ride down shell island and get away from the people and you can ride along the shore without being hassled. For flat water I like to ride in little lagoon. Mo's landing park is a nice boat launch.

Went there once.. too many old people. Stores only sold prune juice and hard candies. Got scared and left. Would not recommend. Low taxes though!
