Pod filters vs oem air box

Do pod filters make a noticeable difference on oem 38s with choke plates removed vs the oem air box with 2 screens out? Current set up is a ported 701 with pfp and msd tl running 225 psi, trying to squeeze ever ounce out of this lil guy, and I've never personally gone back to back with pod filters and oem air box and curious what others think

Sub’d. I have never noticed a big difference on a stock motor except water gets in easier lol. But with your screaming setup I would say it needs all the air it can get even mod the hood?

if you are going upside down or riding surf stay with oem.

It's my temp motor in my xfs until I get my 900 rebuilt. I was shocked at how good it works, but as usual good is never enough and that's about the only thing left i could do on this set up.

I thought about dropping my 48s on it but the look on people's face after they ride it and I tell em it's a 701 on 38s is priceless

People naturally fixate on carburetors. In our application, power comes almost entirely from the porting and pipe, the carb needs to be just big enough.

I used to run the stock flame arrestor. Once you get to certain engine performance however it does create a restriction to the power.

Screws are easier to get at with pods!
