pole spring issues?

The Penguin

my SN has a AC pole on it.

seems very heavy. when I first got the ski, I tightened up the pole bolt and was able to keep the pole very stiff.

now - I can't get it tight enough, and the spring does not seem to make it feel very light

what can I do to remedy the situation?

I broke 3 springs in about a year when I first got my AC pole. I think we ended up with a UMI spring, but I'd have to confirm with the mechanic to be sure.

Oh, and they'd weaken first and the pole would get "heavy".

Nothing at all against Oxnard (great guy to deal with) but I, personally, wouldn't do a used pole spring because of my experiences with fatiguing/breaking brand new springs (good quality springs from a freestyle company that has an otherwise impecable rep) in a few short months.

And like you've said yourself, I ride like a girl and even I break springs.

Not only that but he also rides saltwater & 'gasp' doesn't always rinse as well as he should:pokey:
