I was wondering how complicated it would be to port my 701 head before i put it all back together? I am sticking with the origianl bore and head would it even be worth it?

by head do you mean cylinders? and by porting it, do you mean yourself or having a pro do it?
what type of riding? different types of port jobs for different style riding. there is definitely a big difference in a stock cylinder and a ported cylinder.....and well worth getting it done by someone with a background in porting.
I purchased ported cylinders when I redid my motor in the spring. They were done by a pro and looked pretty sweet compared to stock. Not sure how much of a difference they made by themselves (I also bored the cylinder, added two stage reeds, and milled the head for higher compression), but overall my motor is now pretty snappy.
