Porting questions

I've been debating the whole Race Logic cylinder porting templates. However, the port templates were made for a stock cylinder. If I'm running +1mm on the cylinder bore or decide to increase to +2mm, what effect does that have in terms of porting?

One or two millimeters on an overbore is not really that much to worry about, you just need to make sure the exhaust port width stays under 68% of the bore size for freestyle use.

Also it's important not to raise the exhaust port height too much and the Race Logic porting templates keep the same height as the stock 61x cylinder.

Ok one more quick question... If I port the cylinders, would that generally require bigger jets? Would any change be required to the pop off?

Just wanna get a good starting point and tweak from there so I don't really screw something up when initially firing it up.

Porting

Any type of porting will probably require changes to the jetting.

The stock jetting is for a stock engine so to be safe jetting really needs to be checked for any modifications you make. Pop off controls the early stages of fuel delivery, so yes you should check this also.

if you are unsure how to re jet there are a lot of handy tips on here, just do a search
