Custom/Hybrid Possible to drill new hole in pole bracket?

Would this be bad/good? Wanting to lower my pole a bit and a pole spring is not needed for my setup

Red is where I would drop the new pivot bolt

it may be difficult to get the holes perfectly aligned. A little off at the pole bracket equals way off at the bars. The pole may hit the hood if this happens.

Measure twice drill once.
