Possible Waveblaster Restoration

Hi, I found a neglected blaster that might be a good restoration project.

Can the ski be brought back to original showroom condition despite some cracks and missing parts of gelcoat? Thank you

Heat gun will bring the color back to he plastics. Lots of rubbing compound will bring the paint back. Better yet get it running and beat the crap out of it. It is going to get scratched and damaged so don't bother putting too much time into it.

What worried me was the missing chunk of gelcoat on the front of th ski.

Do yourself a favor and skip the rubbing compound and just wet sand it you still gotta buff it but it's so much faster than buffing it a bunch of times and turns out better than showroom finish.

What do you I do if a small part of the gelcoat is gone?

You can fix it with some epoxy and fairing compound or bondo than spray paint and wet sand it. iv done it before and looks good as new but in all honesty I would not worry about it that chip is not structural it's cosmetic so I'd clean up the rest.

Okay. I was worried since the hull was white in that spot. I just asked the owner if that was a sun damaged sticker or if the gelcoat piece fell off. I attached a pic of what I am talking about. the white spot is clearly visible in the picture.

I just heard back from the owner, the white spot is actually a faded sticker. How do I fix cracks in gelcoat paint. I will definitely rub the hull to get the dealer shine back.

Just try buffing first, and if the chalkyness doesn't come out, then wetsand and buff like @ryan0 said. You won't even notice the spidering.

You can use Marinetex for the chips and gouges in the white. Nice Find!

I wish I had the coin to know. For now I'm just enjoying my old 94 B1. I'm an old school guy.

There aren't many stock waveblaster, let alone clean ones. I want to keep this one out someone hands who is just gonna spray paint and screw it up
