possibly stupid question

HI there i got given a old (what it looks like ) to be an old pro tec rec head for 701 (the black one) now i was always under the impression that these used stock head gaskets but this one has o rings around the domes aswell but not around any other part i have never seen this am i right tosay i need orings and a head gasket if have never seen this before any help would be greatly appreciated :soapbox:

Westcoast used to do that, o-rings plus a special head gasket. I'm not sure about Protec, but it's possible, hopefully someone else will chime in.

Pro-tec's heads used o-rings and recommended to glue on with hi-temp silicone only, no headgasket.
Worked just ok, but had reliability problems (blown orings) due to the Yamaha's cylinder free standing sleeve design.
Get extra sets of o-rings if you plan to use this head!
