Super Jet powdercoating a cylinder ?

I am going to powdercoat my cylinder soon, and a I am wondering if cooking it at 400* will cause any issues with the sleeves shifting etc.

The sleeves can move at that hot. You need to have somone do them that has done them before. The shop we use has done tons of motors for use. Kawi cases can handel the heat where yami cases cant. Yami cyl can be coated they just have the watch the heat.

I am going to coat it myself. Why can't yamaha cases take the heat. I can probably get away cooking them at 350* if that makes a difference.

Yami case are much thinner than kawis. They tweak when you heat and coat them. Kawis you can bake the :):):):) out of them and they are fine.

Powder coated my whole Yamaha motor with no problems...

But painting is easier and the powder will chip and you can't touch it up as easily.

the kawasaki sleeves are cast into the cylinders while yamaha sleeves are pressed in. the yamaha sleeves can shift when heated up to the temp required for powdercoating.

I painted it with engine enamel the first time around, and its holding up pretty good, just thought maybe I would powdercoat it while its apart. Maybe I will just leave it alone. Has anyone actually had negative results themselves?

I have never had any issues with parts I have powdercoated chipping, I did the sway bar links on my jeep that see rocks gravel and whatever else I run over, and they still look just as good as day 1
