Power factor waterbox broken

I have a power factor only two seasons on it, noticed the waterbox had gotten hot because the turf was melty, then noticed cracks above and below the weld on the side for the baffle. Took it apart, and the baffle is loose inside. I run the pipe dry and didn't have any blockage in the stinger, was wondering if the broken baffle could cause it to over heat, or the other way around? Anyone else have a similar issue?

This was a very common problem with new 08+ superjets on a close course with OEM box. The waterbox restricted flow and built heat in the cylinder and melted cast pistons in no time under wot. I can only imagine the same would happen with a loose baffle floating around and blocking off or partial blocking off flow. Depending if you ride wot and for how long, cast vs forge piston, and how much if any flow was being restricted your setup may be fine. I just wouldn't keep riding it to risk any damage.

Thanks for the reply, I won't be riding it broken. I'm wondering if this is common for them to have such a short life span? I've never had a problem before running b pipes.
