What will you choose, both have almost same cc but one is with power valves the order is stroked. I have searchede but not funde what i am looking for, I am leaning too whart stroke.

I can tell you which one will get into your pocketbook the deepest, the stroker motor, because of the increased piston speeds associated with the stroker, you will be constantly changing pistons and rings and about every two years crankshafts.

Well...I got 250 gallons through my +10mm stroker. The pistons look about brand-new.

Go with he stroker over the powervalve if you have to choose. The power of the stroker is a better but different power. The stock stroke BB are reliable but it will not have the same power as the stroker it also has to do with port timing etc. Are you looking at Pico's motors??.

So that what like 10 hrs lol, the laws of physics can only be manipulated to the point of failure, they cannot be changed.

a stroker will make more power....but is alot more expensive..

that being said, you only have to buy a stroker crank once......to rebuild it cost the same (virtually) as rebuilding a stock crank

PV's are awesome, and require little to no maintenance...........but if you have the cash to do a billet cyliner then you might as well do both

I guess my point is that while you're right, my pistons do still look new after one full season of riding. And a $250 set of pistons even once per season is a price *I* would pay for that stroker power.

I think if one is concerned over a $250/season maintenance cost, a stroker is not the right venue to begin with (as you pointed out)

I would dyno them both; then keep the one with the broadest powerband because it's impossible to evaluate without knowing all the engine specifics.

Sounds too mé like stroked has the more power, you could also say that most power valve engine run the big 89 mm or bigger piston witch is more expensiv than 86 mm and smaller piston.

+10mm on Yami and +4mm on Kawi are the safe strokes(equal to oem stroke on GP800/1200), after that piston speed will get too high in in the peak rpm zone that the engines will see regularly causing wear and breakage.

There is big miconception out in the free ride world that it takes a 10mm stroker crank to make good low end. This is totally untrue...ask anyone who took my Circus for a ride at world finals. Porting style, efficiant engine design, and a properly setup prop/pump combo will more than make up for a difficiancy in stroke. I use a 4mm stroker crank in my engines to boost the effective leverage on the crank, but not get excessive on piston speeds. The usable power spread is a mile wide. Just because someone has a long stroke engine does not always mean it has great low end. There are many other factors in the package that come into play. I've ridden a couple 16mm 1200's that couldn't get out of their own way untill the rpm came up. Please don't take this as me trying to sell you something. It just bothers me when someone spends more money than they need to only because they were lead to believe something that wasn't true. A great performing ski will be the one who's selection of aftermarket parts were best chosen to specifically work together for it's intended purpose.

I hear you isent a 10 12 16 mm stroker crank heavy compart too your stroked oem crank ?

You bought gil's engine right how a you likeing it ? Dont Think i have seen pico engine ?

Pv's are a great option if they work. Bought a SS pv engine years ago . Engine made great power at all rpm but it was no difference with pv's blocked off or closed because clearance pv to piston were 3,5mm. In my last Pv build i run 0,5mm clearance. Ss sxr with 89mm Cr500 pistons. Great difference with pv blocked off/closed. Not possiple to tune carbs with pv closed.

In my next build i use the MS Microsquirt with optional out to switch pv's on/off in conjunction rpm to throttleangle.

Let you know it works or not next spring on a +4 mm sxr 85mm engine or my sd951/66e frankenstein........ImageUploadedByTapatalk1350117776.331323.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1350117879.413663.jpg
