Super Jet pre 07 aluminum pole for 2008 superjet?

i got a used aluminium pole from a pre-07 superset for my 08 super jet but after i read here few posts i want to be sure that its going to fit to my steering cable and that I'm not going to replace the pole and find that its not working with the 08 sterr cable.
someone know?

if you buy an aftermarket cable clamp and mount it under the chin pad , instead of using the groove clamp thats on the pole, i'll work just fine. the head section of the pole on the pre 08 is 1" longer than the 08 and up.
