Pretty angry.

Literally just got back from havasu. Anyway. Got on the ski after all the upgrades. (b pipe, ada head , port n polish, bigger main jet, arieltek cdi, second pisser with a restrictor and a flow valve to stinger, carb and jetting done by art at jetworks) Anyways here is my trip in a nutshell, pulled it off the trailer, put it in the water, rode it. stupid amount of power compared to stock 701. Rode it for all of 3 mins and it was doing great, then i noticed it started bogging bottom end. then it started getting hot. Like bathtube water on fire. I was getting steady streams of water out of both pissers obviously so i know there isnt a clog in the pickup to the cylinders. Anyways I pulled the hood off and felt the cylinders and the pipe. Pretty hot but cylinders where worse then the pipe. It wasnt so hot the it would sizzle water off the manifold but it was close. I noticed that one of the pain in the rear bolts on the manifold where a little loose so i tightened them up along with another one on the bottom. Took it back out after it got cooler and tryied again. Felt good but i felt like it was bogging a little still so i figured maybe if i open it up a little and maybe run the water out of the pipe and waterbox it might get more responsive. i thought it might be loading up. it started to die top end eventually too. Pulled hood off and took another look. Off of a random guess i figured i might tighten up the head bolts. A few had a turn or 2 in them. i took it back out and same crap. Ran good, got hot and ran like crap.

Then to top it off i think my prop spun itself off.

Now my only guess as to the temp raising and bogging is compressioin is getting to the cylinder water jacket. Maybe a few of the dome rings didnt seat right. i pulled off my spark plugs and my pistons looked shiney like when i put them in originally. And iv never installed a prop before so im sure that extra rubber piece and the socket looking thing that plugs into the prop and goes on too but i neglected to do it.

So if anyone has any input to what might be happening i would appreciate it

First - fix the grammar in the original post...
Second - get a torque wrench
Third - Go over and triple check everything you touched on the ski. It sounds like installation errors all over the place. Theres no excuse for loose bolts 3 min into your first ride.. Make sure you have your cooling routed correctly and factory pipe screws set up correctly. Pop the head off and replace the o rings. Torque the head correctly.
Good luck.

Good luck.

And retorque the head bolts and girdle nuts after a few rides, oh and don't go by ADA's torque specs as they are way too low for a girdled head set up.

Sorry guys wrote that on the drive home as soon as i had service. Ya i haven't torqued any bolts so im gonna tear the pipe and manifold off too. I honestly thought a little under HULK tight would do it but that was a stupid assumption. Ill get a torque wrench and do it over again, and buy new orings for the head.

The pisser routing is fine i know that for a fact and im running about 3/4th's turn out on the top of the head pipe and a 1/2 turn out on the bottom. And have the flow valve adjusted to about 3 to 4 psi. The restrictor is set correctly because its even on heat and its what Art at jetworks told me to run.

Also is anyone familiar with the extra piece is that comes with the prop that looks like a socket so you can tighten down the prop? Does that stay on the prop and driveshaft with the rubber piece to hold it in place so it stays attached to the prop? I haven't the slightest clue.

Umm you didn't tighten your prop down with the tool and a wrench????
Do a search, the torque specs are in the forums. Want to say around 23 ft lbs for the head, not sure for the cylinder bolts... You assembled the motor yourself?

No i did tighten the prop down with the tool and wrench but i dont know if its suppose to still be on there. I did assemble the motor myself. Iv done plenty of 2 stroke rebuilds as far as dirtbikes and it was a pain in the rear to get 2 sets of rings to set properly in the cylinders but i did it. The rest is fairly easy as far as installation i guess.

I mean i ran it through the flush kit for about a minute but i dont know if that does it any justice.

Okay thats what i thought for the prop. Seeing as how the prop turns the way it tightens.

No... You hook up a pump to the pulse fitting on the cases, pump it up to approx 8-10 psi and see if it holds it for half an hour or so. If it doesn't, then you've got an air leak and you need to fix it before blow up your motor.
Take your time and do some reading bud. Otherwise you're gonna endup learning the hard way and spending alot of money..
