Primer for Appliance Epoxy?

Has anyone used a primer when painting the bottom of their ski with appliance epoxy? I'm looking for something from a rattle can, that can be sanded to fill some light scratching.

I used regular sandable HI-build automotive primer under mine.
came from an auto parts store in a rattle can.

glazing putty in the deep scratches, [let dry] sand that,[wipe it down] spray primer,[let dry] sand that,[wipe down] spray color.

if you are using the rattle can stuff, make sure you get it from an auto body supply store... the stuff they sell in napa,carquest, and autozone has a tendency to give less than desired results
