SX/SXi/SXi Pro primer pump on dash pulled off?????

Just bought my first stand up. 94 750 sx not a beauty queen but runs like a champ. So I took it out for my first ride ever last weeked went to use the primer and it pulled out of the dash panel. Its located where the choke use to be and on further inspection it was just caulked in. I looked at it and found its suppose to have a nut on the back of the pump to tighen it down. the hull is to thick to get a nut on or even see the threads. So my question is "what is the best primer setup so its mounted securely and looks good". What are you guys doing as I have no idea?

thanks

l just did one for a friend on his sxi.l ended up grinding the area on the front side of the plastic/composite piece that the primer goes through.Took off about 3/8" of thickness in that area and was able to get the nut and washer on.

I wouldn't grind the hull. I used a washer inside the hull and secured the primer with a hose clamp. Never had it come loose.

I took out the plastic holder for the choke/ecm and cut of the area around where the primer goes through. Also did the same to where the reserve/run know was and mounted my bilge switch there.

Got it. But for $2 and a trip to the hardware store I would still rather not grind something. Just my preference... Did you have to pull the bracket out of the ski?

Totally agree with you on the grinding part!

Yea,l had to take the bracket out because of a crack in the dash on the ski that l was repairing. So it made it easy.
