Super Jet Pro-tec dbp pipe

Over the 4th of July the 3 bolts that hold on my stock Exhaust chamber; 1 backed out, 1 sheered off, and 1 stripped the threads in chamber. Then tore the coupler. I found a Pro-tec dbp pipe locally and was curious if anyone has experience with this pipe, good or bad. It came off of a sn 650, and is going on my stock sn 650, looks like it is in decent shape. I have searched around and just can not find too much info on this pipe. If it wont work Ill prob buy used stock parts to get me back on the water (don't want to do that.) Thanks

I have a DBP pipe on my 701 superjet and I'm fairly impressed with the power it made. Last summer with just the pipe and 85mm reduction nozzle, it was mostly a strong mid range hitting pipe but after adding boyesen reeds, Ada head to 185 psi and a lightened flywheel it hits hard just about everywhere. Also, there was 2 inches of material added to my chamber which improves the power it makes.

Keep in mind that my 701 will always hit a hell of a lot harder just because that's the nature of the 701.. From my experience, adding a pipe to a 650 hasn't been as noticeable a mod compared to adding one to a 701.

I recommend you look for a different prop for that superjet of yours so you can actually feel a gain. You'll also need to rejet your carb.

If you are talking about the stainless Pro-tec pipe below, according to Pro-tec this is their "A" pipe
I have one on my 650 backup motor, hits good, way better than stock
If this is the pipe you are talking about, let me know and I can pull up my old jetting specs

That's the pipe and yeah they told me it’s the SS A body pipe. I ordered new gaskets and mounting hardware as well as their recommended rejet kit. For 150$ I’m happy to not put a stock exhaust back on. I pulled the motor which was a first for me, not a big deal at all, hoping to be on the water by mid week. This winter Id like to buy some more parts, including a 701.

here it is, it has an ear broken off on one of the manifold mounting holes but pro tec said it wasn't a big deal

Do you have the jetting specs? Just picked one up and can't find anything on that. Also, with the cooling, is it similar to a bpipe?

Mine is on a ported 6M6 650, so I doubt my jetting specs will help. water routing is a little different, mine is dual cooled
I have a T in my line from the head to the bottom of the headpipe to dry pipe out and a FCV before stinger. there is a second pisser off the head to overboard

Bumping an old thread. Looking to cut, rotate and reweld an old protec DBP pipe for a blaster or raider to fit my sons fx1 with a 62t cycle. Stainless chamber and cast manifold. I’m assuming this the the “A” pipe? Protec still sells the mounts which I need. Also wondering if anyone has ran them without the lower mount on the chamber? Will be difficult to get it back in the exact spot.

thanks to @Sparkplug for the pipe!

Looks like the sj pipe had the lower mount on chamber up higher? Looks like that chamber was just two stamped pieces where this one is four?
