SX/SXi/SXi Pro prop question

question for a friends 750sx.

he is prop shopping, and doesnt know what to buy.

unmolested 750 smallpin motor, factory limited pipe, single 44sbn.

he mostly free rides. no crazy top speed stuff, he's looking for low end punch.

my thoughts were cutback stock sxr prop.

opinions?

I would not go with what skat recommends 9/17. That seems to be a decent all around prop but not one that will work the best. After $225 you wont be getting a new prop so most deal with their recommendations. Get the sxr prop but do not cut it back just yet. Get your peak rpm readings and get the feel for the prop in the machine currently swap out for the stock sxr prop. It is a large hub (C75) based prop. Make sure that all props for here out are large hub for proper comparison. Get peak rpm reading and how it feels down low. Call and talk with impros. They can repitch that prop and cut it back or recommend where you should go with an aftermarket one and get you very close to the best pitched prop for your boat. Its always good to have notes of your test runs when speaking with the ski gurus.
