Ouch!!

My Matrix costs me $79/yr and my Wife's 07 SJ costs $126. Since I swapped over all existing parts, the only cost declaration on the Matrix was $5K for the hull. I can't remember what I did on the 07 for it to be so high. I may have claimed the full build cost thinking it would help me with insurance value down the road but that never happened.

Property tax is definitely something to take into consideration when you first register a ski.

Well, I'm goinn to fight to have them lower it. Ski should be assesed under 15K easily. Technically with no motor in it right now, should be like 10K :^).

Was it titled and registered as a home built or something else? I believe in the case of my Matrix, they have nothing to compare it to, so they go by the declared value. Pretty sure I'm paying standard rate on the Superjet as it appears in KBB or whatever source they use to determine market value.

I paid 60 bucks taxes on a kawasaki x2 second hand fuel door cover xD

We pay sooo mutch over here, it's insane!

The fuel door cost me a total of 250 bucks shipping, the part, taxes, customs fee. I hate them :p

Property tax is different than sales tax. Over here, we pay a property tax on homes, vehicles, boats, atv's etc, every single year, on top of a sales tax paid upon original purchase.

In Florida, we have a state pension. FRS. As of last year, we pay 3% into our pension. Except, it doesn't go to the pension, it doesn't get the department a 3% discount on the fees. It just goes into the "general fund". So, in reality, we have a 3% tax civil service tax to be a police, firefighter or teacher.

Kentucky is real bad to, we pay property tax on everything we own thats titled or deeded a 6% sale tax on everything and a few years ago they changed the rules on cars, trucks and boats. no longer is it just sell price they look up the nada value and tax you on that instead of agreed price. exp i bought a truck for 600 but i got to pay sales and property tax at 5,500.

That sucks and crazy. I wish we could move to a flat tax on sales so everyone could see how much they pay cumulatively between all of the taxes at all different levels and places. It is insane how the politicians come up with new ways to hide new taxes.

Florida is a relatively low tax state. We dont have a tax like that, but still think we are overtaxed already.

Rags, you forgot to mention the yearly registration on skis also that's ~$40. Many states it's like $20 for 3 years with no property tax, Kentucky hits $40/year for registration plus property tax.

They always cut those three because they are the only ones that EVERYONE cares about. If they threatened to cut the other thousands of social programs that are out there the majority of people would be all for it.
