Protec 701, can it be used on big bore

I have a girdled Protec 701 head. If I put in big bore sleeves can I just change the dome or do I have to replace the head?

I ran one (billet girdle on big bore) a few years ago and plan on doing the same this year.. Yes you can use that head.. I found I could get the domes (701/83mm) cut cheaper than buying new ones..

I was wondering if the dome Outside Diameter of the 701 are too small for the 84mm bore?

no.. Pro-tec sized them to start at 83mm.. i used it all the way to 86mm but had to cut the domes to 42cc to run pump gas with group-k porting/big sleeve after a few Deto's.. sealing wasn't ever a issue..
