My friend is loaning me his stock cdi modded by protek. What kind of performance gains am i looking at?

27 minutes on a Saturday night isn't a whole lot of time for anyone to respond here - sorry to bust your bubble.

It's a stock CDI with a rev limiter added.
There is no performance gain, other than higher revs.

If he did they would already be on my boat! It goes both ways i hook him up if im not using it vis versa.

if youre hitting the limiter when you ride (like on a stock boat with just a bpipe), then that protec cdi will feel much better on your boat, however, an msd enhancer would give you a little better timing curve than the stock cdi. either way, the biggest difference is really the higher rev-limiter on both units.

if youre just riding surf and messing around, the protec mod is fine, but, the msd is a better mod in the long run. it just sucks when they die because theyre so expensive and people tend not to carry around spare, new, working msd enhancers theyre willing to lend out or sell you at the beach! :smile:
