I rode there a few years ago and nobody rides as far as I heard. I go every year now, my inlaws live in Rincon. There is many new regulations about skis in the surf. You can do it but policia there make up new rules daily. We had a few run ins with them. Crash boat has a really good wave. Hit up Taino divers to rent a surfboard or sup, snorkel gear or dive. Also Katarina sail charters for a booze Cruz on a nice catamaran. Have fun!

thanks for the info. the place id stay overlooks crash boat :) the guy has a jetski rental business there and we are sending down a jetboat and two more skis and some surfboards stashed in the boat this month. i think because he is a local and runs a business there already associated with skis i could get away with some standup riding :) The policia there def make up their own rules al of which can be pursuaded :)
If things look do-able ill get a cheapo chopped SN sent down there too. flights from Orlando are $40 !!!! i spend that much driving to Daytona an hour away.

I can't believe I didn't see this thread before. I live here in PR. We are a VERY small group of standup riders (3 SXR's, 3 X2's, and my Superjet). We have ridden many areas of the island, and we have never seen other standups. As far as we know, were the only ones. We ride every weekend, wherever there is waves.

About the police, its not like that really. They are very strict, but thats towards couchers. In fact, I have NEVER had any trouble with them within the ~3 years ive been riding. Not even to ask about my registration or safety gear. The problem here is that our best surf beaches are always crowded with surfers, and they hate all kinds of boats and skis. Especially in the Rincon and Aguadilla areas, which are the best for surfing here in PR.

But we have many places where we ski on perfect surf, with no one around. You just have to look for them or know the island.

Sorry for the late response, but if you are still here, let me know and I can spare a ski and take you riding someday.
