Pump Grind? 93 sxi

1993 SXI Big Pin Motor. Just noticed a grinding sound in and out of water. Seems to be coming from the pump area. Inspected the pump and impeller and see no damage, or obvious looseness. I suspect the impeller shaft bearing at the pump, but wanted to get some input before a tear down.

Kawi's will make a "metallic" noise when run out of the water. Of course it is hard to say, without inspection if you have anything wrong. I would tear down and look.
