Pump removal question

Reinstalled my pump with new parts last week but having never done this before I didn't know to silicone the pump parts together and the rubber ring between the pump and duct housing . It now cavitates badly and completely lets go (slides out from under me and 360's) on tight corners.
Fun to watch others but not so fun when I'm riding it.

Should I remove the motor and mid-shaft bearing unit to pull the pump? Just thinking of the aligning job which took ages to get perfect.

You can remove the pump without removing the engine or mid shaft. The pump will just slide out once you unbolt it . When reinstalling you may have to turn the midshaft by hand to align the splines

Sounds like the pump seal is leaking.

Put Silicone on the punp seal and bolt up sticking it to the pump shoe. That’s usually enough then you can still pull pump and leave the seal stuck in place.

Thanks heaps for the info.

Just replaced the midshaft (thanks JetManiac) and pump housing (thanks VXSXH20) wanted to make sure it stayed aligned correctly to help stop it chewing the splines out again.

I was able to suck air through the pump join sections so put 3bond 1211 on all those and silicone on rubber seal. Also sealed up the plate and any other gaps. Ride Sunday once the DOMS dies down a bit.
