I'm replacing the pump shoe assembly on my 93 blaster. I have removed the steering mechanism and fist piece of the pump. How do i remove the rest of the pump? I can't seem to figure out how to remove the driveshaft to slide it out. Also any tips on how to remove the rest of the old pump shoe.

there are 4 bolts that hold the pump to the underside of the pump tunnel. Undo those and the entire pump should pull straight out, shaft and all. Make sure the pump hoses and steering cable are disconnected as well. To get the old pump shoe out you will need a variety of tools. I had the best luck with a really sharp chisel. Some of the fiberglass may come off during the removal, just try to keep it to a minimum.

Pump alignment is very important when re-installing the new pump shoe. Be sure to dry fit everything first to make sure everything lines up correctly.

Thanks i got the pump assembly out, I just wasn't pulling hard enough. Taking that pump shoe out is really going to be a challenge, i gave up on it last night.

You are going to have to chip it out in pieces. It will be in 100 pieces when you are done and be pretty much destroyed. Just make sure to not damage the hull too bad in the process.

I was finally able to get it out. Used a heat gun to weaken the adhesive and came out in 3 or 4 pieces and not much damage. Bought blowsion/jet dynamics aluminum shoe. Its going to need some work to fit properly. Angle is different and it sticks out from the bottom of the ski. Also need to tap holes for intake grate to bolt into.

Finally got it installed. Blowsion/jet dynamics shoe was definitely not direct fit. Holes for the 4 screws didn't line up. Ended up putting just 2 in on opposite sides. Used 3M 5200, seems to be in there pretty good. I have to touch a couple spots on the hull with resin from the removal before I ride. I can't believe nobody makes a direct fit aluminum shoe for blasters.

Someone does make one for the B1. www.XR-tech.com
It's a little too late for you now but i installed one on my b1 with minimal grinding and the holes lined right up. I used epoxy with filler so it is in there forever.
