Pump tapping?

After i tap into my pump and put the 90 degree fitting on it do i run a hose right back to the engine compartment, put another fitting and run that to my exhaust mani. I think that is the right way, but please tell me if not. Also, should i close the stock bilge line off, im running a 500gph bilge, but does it make a difference either way? thanks

utilize the stock bilge line as the second cooling line. Then either use a Y or T type fitting inside your hull to connect second cooling line to your existing stock cooling line, if you set-up is stock. Or if running an aftermarket exhaust like a Factory B-Pipe, you will want to drill and tap the Exhaust mainfold to accept a second cooling line.

Im running a westcoast pipe, ocean pro head and 500gph bilge. I was told form a guy at jet-world that i cant use the stock bilge line cause its too big. So he said i need to tap a hole in the pump and get a 90 degree fitting. He got me antoher 90 degree and 1 tee fitting. does that help?

You can use the stock through-hull fitting from the bilge for dual cooling but you'd still have to tap the pump. This is becuase the bilge pump fitting sucks, not blows, so that won't work for feeding your cooling system. Also, it was recomended above to y or t the two cooling lines to one as an alternative to tapping another fitting on the manifold. Doing this would be completely pointless because it will supply little if any more cooling flow than a single line. Don't bother with dual cooling unless you are ready to put another fitting on the mani to take full advantage of it. I think it should also be said that most boats don't need dual cooling and if that is the case there is no advantage to doing it. If you aren't having cooling issues now there is no need for this.

If i didnt run the dual cooling, my head already has a 2 90 degree fittings, and i have a westcoast mani. so it has two fittings as well. Can u just not run dual cooling with the set up i have right now?
