It's a '94 Blaster owned by a friend of mine. I was looking to get a superjet, but some of my financing went belly up. I came across this at a good price.

It has:

Riva Exhaust system with Riva Aluminum Waterbox. Straight Rear Exhaust outlet. 44mm mikuni BN. Stainless steel impeller, top loader intake grate, JetDynetics Ride Plate.

nice ride!

make sure you put a girdled head on that thang!

those riva pipes are cylinder crackers, but they make excellent power!

i think blasters are great 2nd skis, but if you can only own 1, get a standup.

I was given an '88 650sx. Just did a compression check today and she's at 145psi per cylinder. She fires right up and runs great. I enjoy riding it, but it needs some cosmetic work which I am doing now, she may also need a new pump cause there's a gap between the liner and the prop when I shine a light through the intake grate.

I am a total noob to stand-ups. I recently sold my '98GP800. It was a blast in surf. Everyone I ride with has a couch, so I am thinking the blaster will be a ton of fun when I get tired from getting my a$$ kicked on the stand-up.

I really want to get back in the surf, but my stand-up skills are definitely not up to snuff.

Maybe next season I'll get a SJ, but for now I think the Blaster will be perfect, especially for the price.

Jpass,

Do what makes you happy, ride whichever ski is good for you. I have owned Sj, Blasters, runabouts, sxrs, yada, yada, yada. My personal favorite has always been the b1, especially when it has a nice motor and is set up the right way. I had a SJ for 10 years and loved it, raced it, free rode it, but I always like the b1 more. Just my opinion.

Wilkey,

The Riva red pipe makes great power, especially if you prop it right. But, it is heavy. And, all the weight pulls on the left side of the motor. On the right side (the intake side) the Yamaha cylinders are very thin at the flange. They are prone to cracking down near the pulse fitting. I have seen the crack, I have also seen people ride with them and no girdle for years and never crack. Francavilla has a red on his surf ski without a girdle and hasn't had any problems. I would run a girdle head just for the insurance, but to each his own.

Hope this helps,
Scottie
