what's the intent of the site?

Apparently we delete posts all the time, and we are family-friendly, and are too corporate with too many ActiveX (not sure what Scott is talking about there at all) controls.

The standup world is so small, we don't need two (and pwcone.com is a new one in the works also I guess) sites. The only goal I've ever had was to try to keep the standup world together and grow it, so I'd almost rather shut the x down and let them have the headache. Unfortunately they are using phpbb which sucks IMO, it took like 4-5 years for them to come out with a new version. There is a reason pwctoday (Rob) switched away from it back in 2005.

We've actually made a lot of changes behind the scenes this year, we have a 'steering committee' of like 15 people now that are all volunteers from all over the place, and all riding styles. Paul Lehr has not been involved with running x-h2o since last year and yet people still think we are running this place to promote LPW. We have no advertisers anymore, we are fully supported by the Ebay ads and are earning enough money to send 100 stickers to each freeride, of which there are a TON now.

Anyway, if everyone wants to jump ship, we'll do it the right way and shut this place down.

Try not to take offence Jett although I can see your point, you have the worst job ever,it pays nothing although it consumes much of your time, everyone bitches at you for nothing, although you are constantly trying to improve things ,all you get is complaints. I have seen what happened to the X2 forum here as soon as PWCT came out with theirs.Really all that you can do is keep plugging along and build your site to the best that it can be,I for one won't be jumping ship,I can hardly keep up with whats going on on two websites much less three.Your efforts are appreciated here although it should definatly be said more often.

Don't do it Darin!! You've spent way too much time and effort with all of the changes and upgrades....and it's great. No new site is gonna take away the tue X'rs. We love it here. Best damn site on the web!!:headbang:

I have to agree with darin, not a big fan of this other site which will be a clone in a few years with the same information. Maybe I use this site strictly for information, ideas, and buying and selling, it seems like many others use it for entertainment and a social gathering. I only know a few people on the boards and wouldnt really say im friends with any because I am so far away, but friendly the once a year we meet maybe.
Why spread all the info around when we can have it all here, think about the time people have put in adding to the Tech FAQ, just think about the info in the McMasterr Carr thread.
Really what is there to complain about? I guess I stay just out of things to not care or even know what the problems are, maybe Im not in the business enough for it to affect me.

They say two heads are better than one, but I don't think it works that way with special interest message boards. I have seen this EXACT process happen with the vintage jet boat forums, and it didn't work out well for anybody. PWC Today is a general interest site that probably generates more interest in the X than it takes away. I predict that additional special interest (standup / freeride) sites though will only create a brain drain and we will end up with more places to have to check in at, but they will be weaker all around. I hope I am wrong and that both sites will thrive, but that's the way I see it. . . .

Come on Darin, you know most of the people are staying here, they might play on some other sites, but their heart is here. F***, I used to "moderate" SkiNaked's PWCLive.com and I have accounts on all the major PWC forums and some more. The X is the site I visit religiously on the daily basis. Check out my profile on the PWCT (almost 5K posts) or rsjs and see how often I post there.
The X has become the "funnest" site for me, and even if I decide to join another forum (which I doubt for the lack of time or desire), I'm staying here until you or that bird Penguin kick me out.:deal:
