dear all

i am about to tear down my jetski for reinforcement and some hp pimpin by myself, altough i am a mechanic novice but some step by step post are so amazing (thank you all for that).

about to cut down handle pole, d cut ride plate, msd enhance, reinforce jet, install a bilge pump, bpipe and intake grate (2008 sj) and mayb gridle heads.

however, it took me some time to get all these products to my country and i need to get the last shipment right b4 starting working on jet.

my question:
i am not a confirmed mechanics and need to know what are different liquid products u use as sealants, antiseizing, etc,,,, as i need to get all those products abroad. i read that there is a long list of Loctite products on engine remvoval guide. what are those for? what do you use to fix and/or seal hood latches bolts or intake grate bolts? when putting back pissers or on or handle poll bracket bolts? do you put antiseize on every bold you put back?

tkx in advance

If you wanna know the names of all the sealants used on an engine, consult the manual. There's a neat little section usually included in manuals called 'needed tools', or similar.

If you want to know what specific sealant to use on a particular application, ie. sealing the case halves, we can help you out provided you can tell us the make/model.

You need blue loctite, red loctite, 1211 or Yamabond. Maybe some dielectric grease and marine grease. Probably some black and some clear RTV silicone...its just good to have.

A lot of zip ties and new hose clamps (I don't like the ones that come with the B pipe) and some beer, coffee, and time.

Matakana Menace
1211 for cases
grease for girdled studs (where threaded into cases)
silicone around starter and pump/ride plate bolts
blue locktight for reed cages and throttle plate screws
new / dry gaskets for everything else
Dielectric grease for all plugs
Zip ties for fuel lines
hose clamps for cooling lines

I actually use super thin amounts of 1211 on ALL gaskets except intake. It makes the B head pipe gasket last forever because when you take it off it comes off nice.
