Question for families attending

Hard to believe, but this is my first time attending Wavedaze. After reading the "role call" thread, I noticed quite a few bringing their kids with them, and I'm one of those too. I'm just wondering how old your child is (not that I'm a stalker, lol!). Thinking maybe the kids can get together & play/hang out, it would be a pretty cool experience for them to have a friend from a different state/country. Also, for the folks putting on the party, I believe it's at a local club/bar, are the kids allowed to attend too? I will be bringing my son with me, who by the time Wavedaze happens, will be a week away from his 10th birthday. Can't wait to see everyone there!!:bananalama:

If this party is like others I've been to with Jetskiiers, it may be a bit mature of conversation and antics at the bar for a 10 year old. At the same time I bet cable has probably tought him more than we ever could. He will have a great time at the beach, especially if he likes skis. Pizza Planet across the street from the quality inn is a great place for dinner, we eat there almost every night. and there is some beachy type shopping within walking distance. If the weather is good, he will definitely enjoy it. I'll bring a football and volleyball, I'm sure we can help keep him entertained while you are riding.

children under 18 are not allowed at the bar where the party is taking place., sorry for that just state laws. As far as for them to have something to do, yes there will be plenty. Most of the people who usually bring there kids along always seem to make new friends while down here. Im working on some sort of children entertainment for saturday night while the grown ups go out for a bit. Ill keep everyone posted on that as details are available.

Dont' forget there is also a pool at the main hotel. May be a little chilly though.

I remember a specific time last year when repairing a certain friends superjet and somebody dropping the motor on my hand an some select words came out and i got an ear full from some girl because her kids were right next to us....not sure if she was with the ride or not

theres also a heated indoor pool

we will have our kids there 4 and 8 they came last year and love it

There is alot of other activities around town too including a water park & aquarium close by.

All right, we're getting closer to the big event!! My son's getting excited. He asked me the other day if he was allowed to ride his ski there, lol! (I said no)

he can ride in the event as long as he is careful and mindful of the other riders. We encourage new peeps always. just make sure he has a helmet and proper ride gear.
