So I’ve got one season on my Dasa 1100 (10 mm stroker). Its got a Yamaha stator that I installed without advancing the timing and my question is how much difference in performance is gained by advancing the timing and how much is safe? I’ve heard 5 degrees or about the width of a nickel is what some builders set their timing. My specs— 150 psi, 50 mm SE Speed Magic carbs, Jetinetics flywheel, Power Factor laydown pipe, MSD—Rickter FreeRide. I’m looking for a bigger hit off the bottom and my impeller (forgot size) appears to be sized right. Another question is cooling. The ski came with a 1000 Dasa with two cooling lines out of the head and Blowsion advised that I have 4. What I don’t think is correct is the fact that water that leaves the motor is luke warm at best. This would mean that the ski is not running hot enough, right? I’m thinking I should go back to two lines off the head… Back to the timing—is there a noticeable gain In performance? Thanks for any help.
