SX/SXi/SXi Pro R&D Exhaust vs Factory Pipe

There is a used R&D exhaust for 750SX in my area and I was wondering how their exhausts perform compared to Factory Pipes. I planned on buying a Factory Pipe around summer but if the R&D produce just as much power I might opt for one of those since I can get it used for around 1/2 the price of a new Factory Pipe.

I run FP's on both of my ski's and everyone says that the FP's produce the most power. However, if you're going to save more than $200, I'd put that money towards something else and have more power than a FP alone.

hey man i would say if you can get a factory pipe then go for it the problem is i looked everywhere to get a NEW one but factory isnt making them any more maybe in fall of 09 they mite have time (is what they told me every time i called) so if you can find a nice used one go for it i never did get to run my R&D pipe so i never found out how they compare but i was told they are a pretty good pipe

In the old days the R&D pulled more rpms than the factory pipe LTD. The factory produced more horsepower but signed off earlier. Fo that price I would get it.

I can get the R&D for $290. Hopefully this pipe will give me more low end grunt as my top end is plenty. I just want more thrusting power/torque I guess for trying to launch the ski out of the water (it's not gutless but I don't think I could ever have too much pull...). I'll read up on impellers and other jet system mods (whatever you guys call that stuff lol).
