Freestyle R&D pump cone and OEM 155 pump

Hi guys

What do you think about , as title says, put an R&D pump cone (or TBM) on OEM 155 pump?
Does it will perform better than stock 155 pump for freeride or freestyle?

Pump cone on 144 OEM pump increase really the stock one,
Someone here has tried it ?

Someone has done it on here.lt will work,but you will have to grind the pump hub down some to make it work.l started to do this on my 155 oem,but the cost of the tbm was more than l wanted to spend not knowing if it would work that much better.lwould look up some of the 155 pump threads on the X

I just completed one, it is a good bit of grinding, test fitting and grinding. I plan on doing a quick writeup soon on the work needed. I have not tested it yet and likely will not test it back to back without the hub since all the work is done.

By the time you are done you will have 3/4 of the price of a large hub invested, plus the time and the stator blade angles will still be stock. You'll have to experiment with the props at 300 each till you find one that works good enough. Unless you're looking for a project, why not just order a 155 and get the added benefit of a set back well designed pump, and an expert to dial the prop in the first time? Unless you have a free 155 stock pump, and shaft, and time, and like to play. Then go for it.

Isn't a new 155 mag like $1500?

Yes, but if you have to buy all the pieces of a 155 OEM stator 175+, R&D or TBM pump cone 400+, wear ring 300 +, long bolts 85+ you're getting into the mid 900s.

You'll still need the bearings, seals, custom driveshaft and now its a one off that wont change over to a set back 155. Then there is the custom prop issue at close to 300 each try. Like i said if he already has the parts then go for it. Just have heard a few people tell me they wish they hadn't wasted time and money going half way, and then none of the parts or props change over. Especially the prop and drive shafts, that hundreds of dollars.
