race gas?

hello guys, is mixing 50/50 race gas for example (vp110) or so will do any good for a stock 701 engine with such mods (vforce reeds, b pipe, msd etc) or any other mix might be easy on the engine? just curies about the gas race threads all over the forums

If it still has stock compression, waste of money. Regular 87-89 octane is what you want to run. Race gas is for high compression motors to keep them from detonating.

In that case, you should run 93 octane at a minimum. My old ski had 180 psi. Don’t like ethanol so I used to get AvGas 100LL from a local airport. Mixed it 50/50 with non ethanol.

You can run 180 psi on 87 if you don't hold it open very long. I wouldn't. But it's doable

I run all season at 180 psi on 91 ethanol fuel. Haven't had an issue attributed to fuel.

Yeah 91 is fine for 180. Plus most of us don't have access to 93.
