Ratchet Hood Latch Setup... Need input

I am gonna be running a new hood the rest of the season and would like to create some sort of Ratchet Hood Latch setup. I have done a search and found a bunch of ratchet hood strap setups, but am having trouble finding posts with a ratchet hood latch setup. I'd like to do a ratchet hood latch system so that I don't have to have both the latching system and hood straps. Trying to condense two systems into one. I'd like the ratchet system to stay right in the same area as the hood latch, not like some setups where the strap runs all the way to the front of the hood around the handle pole bracket area.

What is everybody's experience with these?

How are you setting your's up?

Where did you purchase your ratchet system?

Mounting ideas?

Is my proposed design going to be strong enough?

Any feedback would be appreciated. I am going to be running this on a waterdawg diablo hood if it matters.

Funny you should ask, i just set up a ratchet system in place of a hood latch last night. The hood I'm using doesn't have hardware holes for a hood latch.

I removed the bottom part of the hood latch, and bolted through a strap and the stock latch holes with large washers. The side is actually just webbing, no hooks or ratches or anything.

I use a regular ratchet from home depot (I know, it's not stainless). I use a through bolt on my pole, so I just hook the hook to the pole bolt.

I'll try to get a picture of it later. It's not pretty, but it works. Mike Serlin runs a nice ratcheting system, hopefully he'll jump on here with advice.

No not too lazy... I'll have to drill holes for this system also, but I just want to condense the two systems into one. I hate how hood straps hang there and get in the way ever time the hood is taken on and off.

DJs looks great but he is removing the stock hood latch and nothching the pole cushion and going with a single.

His fits so good that it doesn't even really need hood hooks or a latch.

He has pics on here somewhere I thought.
