SXR Rattling sound coming from pump area.

06 sxr 800, when I go over half throttle I hear an annoying rattling sound is this normal, I took out the pump and checked impeller clearance and bearings everything looks good. On the stand it is even more noticeable, any thoughts?

Just bought an '09 SXR and ride it for the first time today and I heard this same rattle!
Is this common on SXR's?
Easy to adjust coupler alignment to see if rattle diminishes?

My 06 rattled right out of the crate. It's an SXR thing.

all kawi 650 750 sxr rattle. it rattles because the drive shaft slips into the prop. its not a tight fit and it is going to and does make noise. as the splines on the shaft and prop wear, the rattle gets worse. since solas props are made out of butter stainless, they wear faster and rattle sooner. you can put it together with a bunch of silicone and it will be quiet for a minute or 2. i have never seen a kawi strip splines in a prop or on a shaft, but i saw a 550sx skat prop that was very worn.

Yep, I put an oring on the end of my driveshaft and that helped. Grease it up too.
