Really hard MSD Totall Loss guestion

alright... ill try to be clear because subject is bit hard ( at least to me)

here it goes...

i have tl in my 701 superjet, it is older version (4272) that has 1 coil 1 tricker and two magnets in flywheel.
now my problem is that this box is burned.. i have one newer box (2530) but it has only one of three channel working..
so guestion is can i use that new box with only one channel working with my current setup

i hope for fast reply.. like always everything fails just before big events like this one next friday..

Should work fine, so long as the single coils from the newer brain have the same resistance as the 4272's dual coil.

which coil do you have? the blue pro coil or the red motorcycle coil? the 2 magnets and single trigger should fire fine on the new brain. just bench test it.

I don't think it will work. Your curve will be off by a factor of two. I don't think you can set the rpms high enough on the brain to compensate.

Winner! It could run, but would hit the Rev limiter at 10,000/2 so 5000rpm.

Also 20 degrees on the ignition will be 10 degrees at the flywheel as its moving twice as fast as it thinks it is

Let me explain it better.
Every time it gets a pulse the ignition thinks its done 360 degrees the two magnets will make it pulse every 180 instead
so when it think its done 20 degrees its actually only done 10 on the crank

yes it could, but then it will fire only once per 360 degrees.
thus only running on one.

So there is no way to fool that loss to work with components that i have.?

isnt it the opposite.. flywheel is moving half the speed that box think it is? 2 magnets so 2 spins/signals for box in one spin

It's the way I wrote it. The flywheel is giving a pulse twice a rotation not once and so it seems to be spinning twice the speed than what it is
