Rear ended on Highway

On my way back from work yesterday I was doing 65 in the right lane when I got blasted from behind. The guy must have been doin over a hundred (this is in a construction zone). Totally destroyed my pass rear rocker, quarter panel, messed up my neck and the dude drove right off. I got his front bumper, someone tried to track him down, but he was probably drunk. It was at 7:30 pm and the cop showed up at 9pm finally. No one ever asked me if needed an ambulance or anything. I am in the office today and I can't turn my head to the left.

The dude had no ins. The bumper of the nissian altima (04) had a vin but the vin was attached to a name, no registration according to the cop. The guy had a sticker with an expiration of 8/15/08. It is probably some rich kid who went and got insurance and then instead of registering the car got a temporary plate from the secretary of state. That is what people from less priveliged commhnities in Michigan do. I am f-ed.

Least i can still drive the car. I'll post pics tonight after work.

yeah, it comes and goes for all of us. You just got to play the card you're dealt. I have someone coming to look at the car tonight, so i need to clock out and get out of the office. I am sure my company is sick of me getting paid to be on this site. :naughty:

that sh*t pisses me off!

I know how you feel man......my car got hit in the parking lot as I was shopping....a week after I bought the car...didn't even have the gull to stay around and look after the damage done to my car. However, you could of been seriously injured....glad to hear that it is only a stiff neck....as sholes!!!!:shooter3:

um, ok. :hitwithrock:I was going five over in a construction zone 65 in a 60. They were doing well over 100mph weaving all over the road. It is likely they were drunk, driving with no ins. and no plates. Bad luck i guess. This is a known construction zone on the highway, it has been 60mph for more than a year now. There is always more then one cop waitng for people to speed in that zone. :dunce:

Justin, you should really download google toolbar. That way when you type "knowlege" it will put a red squiggle line under it like a microsoft program and direct you to the correct spelling "knowledge."

Sorry to hear that!

I look at it this way. for all the times when i am running late at night, or anytime i am around cars when i am not in one, I feel pretty lucky. A few months ago in the spring i was running with a reflective vest and blinking red light. It was around 6:30pm but still dark and i had to do a flying jump to get out of the way when someone tried to take me out. It made me so mad that i started carrying a rock for people who got too close. I never threw a single one...but i was pretty pissed.

When i compare that incident to my most recent crash i think i am lucky i was not seriously hurt. Afterall...there could have been cars behind us that hit me, and having just had 39 stiches in my stomach on 7/28 I was glad i didn't get ripped open. I am lucky i am not this guy:crutches:

hey bro how are you healing up? That was what i thought of first was you just having surgery. I think you got pretty lucky the wreck didnt cause some type of complication.

He was probably drunk or a criminal getting away from something.


I see it everyday with my job. Part of the reason i wont buy a motorcycle these days. I would love one but it's usually never the riders fault, its some douchbag like that.

Exactly! I think of how lucky i am to still be able to drive the car. I am just trying to sell the car to recoup the cost of original purchase. I bought it a few weeks agofrom GA and spent s good dime on gas to get her back here.
My ins. won't do anything, I am at a total loss. I had the least amount of coverage possible to be legal.
