Rear tie down idea!

Machined these the other day. Just random idea but seems to work well! Similar to Freeride Innovations rear tie downs.

It's only one piece. (Well other than the bolt.) The strap simple goes through bottom of hole in ski. Across the bolt. Then back through hole to ratchet strap (creating a triangle) When the strap is tightened it cinches everything down. Then a bungee is simply run through the loop in the top. @speedysprocket

my .02... forgive if I'm missing how it works from my perspective with the pics.

Looks like a PITA to feed an endless strap every time you load and unload. Especially when you have to un-feed it through the ratchet part. I see it's a bolt that could be removed but who wants to fidget with tools to remove their ski.

I'd look to redesign and either use a pin on the top to pull for quick disconnect or some type of locking coupler that needs the pressure off of the connection to be able to be turned to be undone.

Otherwise I'm jelly of your toy and ability to make whatever you want. Props. :D

I think you should change the design a little (related to the strap). PM me a number and I'll text you a sketch if what I'm thinking. Link the thread on the PM. If you're interested.

x2, replace bolt with something like this and your golden:

I was initially worried about the thought of it being aggravating to feed the strap. But it's actually very easy to do. You just have to make sure your straps aren't too heavy duty. Every design can use critiquing.... I'm all ears. I love the idea of replacing the bolt with a pin.
