Super Jet Rebuilding a mid shaft, thinking about engine setback

I have a 90 Superjet that I'm breathing some new life into. (JM735 ported w/bpipe).
Since I need at least 2 new engine mounts, I've been considering the setback kit from Rhaas since it includes motor mounts.
My question is this:
Since the 90 - 93 superjets have completely different mid shaft housings than then 94+, can I press a GP760 shaft into the 90 housing? I want to move it back an inch or so... Or do I need to get get my current mid shaft modified and machined to accept the setback?
