Super Jet removing paint on hood

the paint on the hood of my 98 superjet is starting to chip away. now i just want to strip all the paint off the hood. whats the best way to do it?

and not sure if anyone has done it before but i'm going to put a layer of carbonfiber over the hood after i get the paint off, to make it look like a carbon fiber hood.

on my 96 sj i just use a razor blade and got all the flake off then i went over it with 220 grit paper, but since u gonna run carbon fiber might need to use a heavier grit like 40, im not sure if the 98 sj was gel coated or not my 96 wasnt.

On my '04 I used a heat gun and a plastic putty knife. Then finished up with a clean scotchbrite pad.

i used paint remover in a aerosal can. it works great. just spray it on, wait for a few, and it just peels off

Marhyde makes a good aerosal paint remover.

A heat gun and puddy knife worked well for me but it was slow going maybe the paint remover would be a bit faster
